Why Bakir In & Out exists, what I do every day, and the future I work toward.
Bakir In & Out exists to make technology a driver of social cohesion rather than a force that weakens it. I am convinced that the quality of life and shared values of Switzerland and Europe deserve to be protected, and that well-designed technology strengthens the bonds between people, institutions and businesses instead of loosening them.
This plays out very concretely in the organisations I work with. When an initiative gets lost in waiting, hand-offs and approvals, it is not only lead times that grow longer: skilled people lose heart, know-how gets diluted, and trust wears thin between those who decide and those who do the work. Removing that friction is how I serve this purpose.
I help local organisations, businesses, institutions and associations, turn their ideas into products and services that reach real users, early and often. I work mostly with SMEs modernising a heavy legacy, SMEs without a technical lead, and industrial divisions of large groups. Together with their teams, I make visible where the flow gets stuck, I question the why before building, and I deliver the right-sized solution all the way to production. I act as a sociotechnical partner, on how teams are organised as much as on how systems are designed, because each shapes the other, and because that is where technology tightens or loosens the bonds between people.
I believe in a Switzerland, and a Europe, that put value back at the centre and keep it flowing: businesses and institutions that keep control of what makes them valuable, reinvest in their teams and their local suppliers, and grow more resilient by releasing the value they already hold. Through successive reorganisations and layers of outsourcing, that know-how has often been diluted, and committed people spend more time waiting than creating. I see another path: teams that understand their flow, systems built to their measure, and partners who pass on what they know instead of creating dependency. That is the meaning of "In & Out": I come in to clarify and deliver, then I leave an organisation that is stronger, more autonomous and better connected to those around it.
